A classic chain to elevate any look. This timeless piece can be worn alone, with pendants and charms, or as an addition to your other necklaces to create your own signature layered look.

The snake chain rose in popularity in the 1840's to 1850's. The chain was meant to mimic the movement of a snake, as the links were joined together in a way that emulated the scales of a snake and created a unique motion.

Serpents are often recognized as a symbol of healing, medicine, and even power. The shedding of their skin represents rebirth and the welcoming of a new chapter.

In the Ojibwa and Pueblo tribes, snakes are associated with fertility and new life. The Hopi people see the snake as deeply connected to the underworld. In ancient Greece, snakes were a symbol of luck and it was believed that snakes, and art carved in their likeness, warded off evil. The ancient Egyptians, too, believed that the serpent offered protection to their people and warded off harm.

Snakes have long been believed to stand for health, good luck, and protection throughout various cultures in history.
