Peridot Solitaire Ring
14k gold with a trillion peridot totaling 1.07 carats.
Hand-carved design by Lily Raven with a handset peridot stone.
Peridot is one of only two gems (diamond being the other) that is formed deep in the Earth in molten rock and brought to the surface by earthquakes and volcanoes. Peridot in its basic form, Olivine, was also found in comet dust brought back from the Stardust robotic space probe in 2006.
Associated with the sun, Peridot has been prized since the earliest civilizations for its protective powers to drive away negativity. Set in gold and worn around the neck or bound to the left arm, it was used as a charm against negative forces.
Whether formed under extreme conditions here on Earth, or brought to us from neighboring galaxies, August’s birthstone is a testament to nature’s beauty.
